THE move by Government to introduce a health levy is a noble idea which will improve service delivery in the health sector if well utilised and accounted for. It will also assist the poor and vulnerable groups who cannot afford to pay for health care facilities. — Rosemary Shumba, Ruwa.

*** The state of roads in Harare and Zimbabwe in general has ceased to be funny. It is no longer an issue for social media jokes, but one that is real, requiring urgent attention. It has become a real nightmare to navigate most parts of the city and everyone is better off investing in off-road trucks. The condition of the roads is now unbearable. — Hope Mugadza, Harare.

*** We appreciate the efforts being made by Government to address the issue of typhoid in the country. The local authorities need to address the issue of sewer bursts, illegal vending, supply clean water and remove refuse. They should enforce rules and regulations concerning illegal activities happening in the city. Let’s strive to keep our city clean. — Tendekai Moyo, Kambuzuma.

*** It was a pleasure to watch the Warriors participate in the Africa Cup of Nations. Even though they did not qualify for the quarter-finals, they tried their best. I think the guys played very well, but they are not fit to compete against other African players as they lack strength compared to fellow African teams. — Thomas Ndoro, Marondera.

*** Harare City council should improve the working environment as well as address water and sanitation issues at Mbare Musika. The major cause of waterborne diseases is lack of proper sanitation at the market. They need to decongest the market, if possible they should open new market places. — Margaret Mpofu, Harare.
