Pasuwa fought a good fight

-

EDITOR — Allow me on behalf of Zimbabwe to thank coach Callisto Pasuwa for his bravery and patience which got us to the AFCON finals in Gabon. From the days he became a social media sensation after his image boarding a bus wrapped in a blanket went viral, to stopping Algeria in their tracks at Afcon, Pasuwa has always been an exemplary figure to the Warriors. He is a man with unparalleled vision and with four local championships and an Afcon qualification on his CV, I am sure clubs will be sparring for his signature. The criticism may have emerged at the tournament owing to a number of questionable decisions he made as we faced superior opponents. Truth is, no one is without fault and he was the one who held training sessions with the team watching their performances from a closer perspective. He knows why he decided to field certain players ahead of some favoured by the Internet imbabweans are hard to please by nature, maybe their revered literacy is the cause of their pessimistic approach to things.

Pasuwa should not take the attacks he faced to heart, he is still the best football brains in the country and no one can dispute that.

Tactically, he may have been outwitted, but that does not take away his abilities in any way.

Jose Mourinho was humbled at Chelsea, but still landed the lucrative Manchester United job One after tournamenta terrible season. cannot define a coach and we say to Callisto Pasuwa, thank you for giving us reason to believe

again. We wish you growth and progress in your endeavours of choice. You fought a good fight. David Mhlanga, Via e-mail.
