THE violence and looting that followed the so-called “tajamuka” movements by Evan Mawarire disturbed our peace. This was against the significan­ce of the flag which he had strapped on. The flag of any country is not an ordinary piece of cloth. Why should I follow a man who claims not to have political ambitions yet doing those things that stimulate political aspiration­s among the followers? — Silas Deya, Bindura.

*** The cost of blood is very high hence the need for a downward review.

How can a life-saving liquid be so expensive? Less-privileged members of society are at a disadvanta­ge as they cannot afford to buy blood enough to save a life.

The consequenc­es of those who cannot afford to buy the pints of blood are too dire to contemplat­e. Many people die due to blood loss.

These are deaths that can be avoided by providing blood to needy patients. The only way to stop blood-loss related deaths is to reduce the cost of blood. The responsibl­e authority should hear my plea. — Lawrence Moyo, Hwange.

*** I think VP Mnangagwa has made a remarkable effort in explaining this current position and the dire need to re-look at our Constituti­on. *** The praise and dance now going on in some later day churches is slowly cascading towards paganism.

What happened to the sedate and respectful singing and dancing that is consistent with worship and the house of God?

The line between reverentia­l dance and pagan dance has become very thin with the later becoming more noticeable.

I pray that we do not get a replay of ancient times when shrine or temple prostituti­on was part of life.
