CAPS United show seriousness, dedication

-

EDITOR — CAPS United are acting like real champions by having a well-planned pre-season playing against regional teams of stature.

This is a statement of intent, showing how serious they are as they are about to embark on their title defence.

Dynamos, their rivals from across town, are yet to tie down their goalkeeper with a contract.

All they have been doing is holding trials looking for free players and playing Herentals, a team whose playmaker is a part-time footballer.

It should not come as a shock to the DeM- bare faithful when the Green Machine starts cruising past them, they have been dedicated to their work.

Their recently replenished squad will have more fluidity since they have had time to practice against serious opposition.

It sometimes helps to have business-minded leaders like Farai Jere at the helm of such a big club, the administrative organisation is hard to ignore.

Every team is supposed to follow the precedent shown by CAPS United as playing against lower division teams in pre-season is not enough practice.

I predict that Ngezi Platinum or CAPS United will emerge victors this coming season.

Tonderai Ndiraya was sent to South Africa on an internship to learn the technical aspects of the game. Chitembwe has been learning the ropes against regional giants like Zanaco FC.

Their triumph should not come as a surprise to soccer fans in Zimbabwe. Herbert Moyo, Belvedere.
