Zanu-PF right to fire Mujuru

- Cde Khumalo, Norton.

EDITOR — The ZimPF fiasco vindicates the Zanu-PF leadership for expelling Joice Mujuru and her cabal.

Their divisive tendencies have emerged once again, this time from their own derelict political corner.

It must be a first in global politics, where an interim president of a party fires other members before they are substantively elected.

To add more shame to the madness, the ousted members — Rugare Gumbo, Didymus Mutasa and company — also fired Mujuru, accusing her of gross ineptitude.

This shows one thing: all these people are conniving, power hungry political figures who would like to lead political parties, but lack the aptitude.

Instead they prefer to cheat the process through sinister hostile takeovers, something they attempted at Zanu-PF and failed.

Mai Mujuru showed her disloyalty by firing the people who stood by her when she started her political outfit. This is the same disloyalty she showed to President Mugabe when she was at the centre of planning a takeover from the revolutionary leader.

On the other hand, Mutasa and crew, if the allegations being levelled against them are true, have continued their traits.

They are allergic to being led and will try to topple anyone who is above them. I wonder how they co-exist in their societies. Gumbo has a long history of questionable loyalty from the days of the liberation struggle up until today. His love for undue seniority has seen him being sent packing from every political sphere he has dared to belong to. Now that Mai Mujuru has seen that she was duped by political nonentities into believing that they would turn their party into a sensible brand, she is a bitter woman.

Not sure if she has anything left up her sleeve, but right now she is between a rock and a hard place.

Having to make a choice between camps comprising political novices like Jealousy Mawarire and a club of useless political hogs like Mutasa, is worse than death itself.

With this episode, I think it is safe to say that it was fun while it lasted as Zimbabwe People First sees its last days.
