It never rains for Joice Mujuru

-

EDITOR — Word is Joice Mujuru is facing a fresh obstacle in her attempt to rename her party.

Mujuru announced at a Press conference in Harare last week that she was naming her party the National People’s Party (NPP).

This was to differentiate her brand from the one she lost to the elders of her party in a firing mission gone wrong.

However, there are indications that there is another party in existence with that name.

There is a group reportedly calling Mujuru out for hijacking a name they have been known by since 1994.

Mujuru’s failure to find an original name for her “political party” proves lack of intelligence and the absence of intellectual depth.

No wonder Zanu-PF got rid of her, she was fast becoming a liability to the revolutionary party with her divisive tendencies and ineptitude. She needs to be serious for once. There are a lot of considerations and inquiries involved in making big party decisions. It seems she is getting ideas from an excited Jealousy Mawarire who is desperate to cease being seen as a political novice, something he still is.

If this party name is registered with ZEC then Mrs Mujuru should change her party’s name rather than fight over a party name.

If there is proof that there is actually an active party in the country and that its leadership is resident in the country then she needs to get a new name.

If she can’t even come up with a new name, what hope is there that Mujuru has ideas that benefit the general populace in Zimbabwe? People should not hold their breath for a coalition of parties like Mujuru’s.

Like the President rightly said, an aggregation of zeros still gives a zero. Mutsa Muchadura, Harare.
