Acts 20 vs 24; “But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” AFTER an illustrious life filled with miracles, splendour and an abundance of wisdom and blessings, the great king Solomon failed to cross the finishing line of the sanctified life he was led to live.

He allowed the trappings of the world to dissuade him from his destiny.

He diverted from the path he had known all his life, from the ways of the Lord that had held him in good stead and had assured him of victory in many a battle.

In a moment of sheer madness he chose to pursue other gods that had been introduced to him by his foreign wives.

Throughout his life he had known the one true God who had exalted him and had chosen him ahead of all his brothers to be king and had made him a great leader at that.

We can all relate to Solomon, all too often we fail in our pursuit of the one true God when it matters the most, despite our previous victories in Him.

Crossing the finishing line is one of the most difficult things to do.

Staying true to the calling and ensuring that He remains our true constant is often one of the hardest assignments.

May He grant us the focus to remain true to Him and to cross the finishing line strong, knowing that in Him we can do all things as long as we remain under His wing. Be blessed. REFLECTIONS OF A WORK IN PROGRESS ...
