ONE of South Africa’s multi-talented and legendary actors and singers Joe Mafela is no more. I remember him starring in such films as Going Up, Generations and several others. May his soul rest in peace. — Lovemore Kashawo, Harare.
*** There is this insurance company which is not offering any service at all, although they are taking subscriptions from clients. The insurance company takes more than four months to process a claim of a few dollars to repair an accident damaged vehicle. I wonder why the authorities are allowing this company to continue operating. It is high time this company is investigated and have its licence revoked. — Detal, Harare.
*** When the Command Agriculture programme was introduced and a budget mulled, the actual total expenditure will be known at the end of the project. Those not involved directly can waffle foolishly, like the uninformed lot supporting malcontents in Government and ZANU-PF. They stand advised that their unwise political excitement to create political fodder for our ZANU-PF opponents, will not give them a good image in Zimbabwe. Trying to cast doubt on good and succeeding policies is counter-productive. — Cde Mzvinavhu (Prof), Harare.
*** Let’s Command on! There is no need to listen to people hallucinating. We have the best crops ever in our fields right now because of the Command Agriculture Programme. Who leads it or who takes the pat on the back, we don’t care, but this will go in the history of the turnaround of our economy as a well thought and managed programme. — Sam, Harare.
*** Police officers are always stealing from and harassing motorists and there is nothing new about this. They jump onto the road when they see a “cash cow”. I hope ZRP Mbembesi officers take note and avoid trying to fix motorist like they are famous for. When they do not see defects on a vehicle, they create such to fix a motorist. — Thomas Chipangi, Bulawayo.
