Hillcrest . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .(30) 60 Kwekwe High . . . . . . . . . . . .(12) 15 HILLCREST College were the biggest winners on the fifth day of the Dairibord Rugby Schools Festival at Prince Edward yesterday with a comprehensive victory over Kwekwe High.

The Leopards, as Hillcrest College are affectionately known, were dominant from the very start and will be boosted by their superb show when they take on Kyle College tomorrow.

They will emerge with an unbeaten record should they beat Kyle College of Masvingo.

Hillcrest scored four tries through flank Simon Mandoza, first centre Tadiwa Muchemwa, lock Makanaka Charamba and eighthman Pride Chifamba.

The school’s sports director Crispen Mhike believes the team had played to expectations.

“We are doing well, especially the senior side, they have been winning most of their matches and this is very encouraging,’’ he said.

“The level of competition is high and we are happy for the boys as they are showing character with each passing game.

“The Kwekwe game was a good preparation for our match against Kyle College whom we have not beaten in the past eight years and I believe on Saturday we will make a difference.

“We have been working hard and I think results are now beginning to show”

The other high-profile match saw Churchill Bulldogs getting the better of Capri Horns 24-7. The festival continues this morning with a number of high-profile matches lined up at all the five venues — Jubilee, Avenues, Chapel, Rhodes and Hospital Fields.
