Stop the madness

-

EDITOR — The story headlined “Babourmadness” in Monday’s edition of The Herald refers.

It does not matter what the English expert says. The offside issue became irrelevant the moment Bosso hooligans caused the abandonment of the match.

The disciplinary hearing has already charged Bosso for the abandonment of the match and are not even considering the offside issue.

Bosso hooligans always find an excuse to ruin matches. Fans must only come to watch games and decisions should be made by referees. I strongly condemn the behaviour of the fans.

The offside issue is irrelevant at this point after the hooligans decided to take the law into their hands. We can go for the next 10 years debating the issue of the offside, but we cannot go for another match fearing the hooligans. Enough is enough. We cannot have one team giving the same problem.

We have experienced and seen a lot of close calls and wrong decisions by match officials and games proceeded peacefully to their conclusion.

Here we are dealing with rowdy hooligans. Half of them didn’t even see what happened.

They simply joined in the missile throwing because they always come for that kind of “fun”. The club must be punished; the least punishment I can recommend is to demote Highlanders to Division One.
