US must be sincere on serious issues

-

EDITOR — I thank the United States for its HIV/ Aids related donations.

I was privileged to tour the US in the mid 1980s on the invitation of the US government sponsored programme on HIV/AIDS awareness.

I was then representing ZNCC as the chairperson of the Economic Affairs Committee and was then chief economist with a local financial institution. We visited the US congress and had our workshop discussions in one of the halls at the Capitol. This was in Washington, District of Columbia.

That time I never envisaged we would have sanctions imposed on our economy because of our land reform. Neither did I envisage our then young students at home, namely Professor Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti would one day sit in that Congress Lobby as stooges, to lobby for sanctions against our economy, in the hope that their sellout party would benefit from the people’s economic wounds.

At the forum there were so called HIV/AIDS researchers mainly from the US army pontificating. Today many erudite intellectuals can plausibly see a link between the US military warfare and the satanic origin of the Aids virus.

Have you wondered why the US aid is consistent on HIV/Aids and birth control programmes?

There is nothing on effective economic development, such as Kunzwi Dam or our Zambezi water projects.

They give us fish while incapacitating us by opposing our diamond trade despite the Kimberly Process approval.

They impose ZIDERA while dishing condoms to our population. Yes, you want me to climb over a mountain and say US regime our saviour? My foot! Cde Mzvinavhu.
