Bosso switch focus
HIGHLANDERS coach Erol Akbay says they have moved on from Sunday’s disappointment and are ready for Harare City when they meet in a Castle Lager Premiership match at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
Bosso have been hauled before the PSL disciplinary committee after some of their fans caused the abandonment of the league match against DeMbare.
This is Highlanders’ first league match in the capital this year.
“We have moved forward and we are ready for our next game. We want to continue from where we left at Barbourfields. We were playing good soccer before the game was interrupted and eventually called off. ‘’We even scored a beautiful goal. ‘’The players are in good spirits and they are looking forward to the game,” he said.
The Bulawayo giants are seeking to shoot to the top of the log should they win against a Harare City side that has struggled since the season opened.
Bosso are fifth with 13 points, three adrift pacesetters Ngezi Platinum.
The Sunshine Boys are a poor shadow of the team which won Chibuku Super Cup trophy two years ago.
They have won just once in seven matches.
But Akbay is expecting a tough game.
“They are a difficult team with good players. It is not going to be an easy match for us,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa said his charges have also moved on from the trauma of their abandoned match and diverted all the attention to tomorrow’s clash against Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium.
The match would be played under floodlights.
“We have forgotten about the Highlanders abandoned match. Now we are looking forward to the coming match.
“They (Black Rhinos) have been collecting points. They are in good form so we expect a very tough match.
“Stanford ‘Stix’ M’tizwa was a talented midfielder and has done a lot in Zimbabwean football and he is also doing a lot of work with his team. They have lost once and would want to preserve that.
“But if you also look at our team, we are chasing other teams, we know the position we are in and where other teams are and so we are trying to play catch-up,” said Mutasa.
