Response to “High Court bars water disconnections”

City of Harare is failing to provide services to its ratepayers and consumers because most of the people are not willing to pay for those services because of various reasons. — @vnemaz.

*** Response to “Govt creates 2,2m jobs, says ED”

That is the right direction; finance our farmers with long-term programmes. I know the enthusiasm among farmers and it’s the weather which sometimes “kills” their enthusiasm. We can turn around our country. — @tatsliltwist.

*** Response to “Britain submits human trophies identities report”

Imagine if it was Zimbabwe displaying the skulls of Rhodesians in its museums? It would cause public outcry around the world. We would be called barbarians. We would be slapped with illegal and satanic sanctions. These are the same British people who claim to be big on human rights. This is barbaric and a disgrace. Our heroes refused to sell-out their country and died fighting for what was right. — @Gonzondishefu.

Well done Zimbabweans for contributing to our country’s food security programme this year. This is wonderful news and deserves jubilation. — @Kire.

*** Response to “Perhaps the happy days are back again”

I am just hoping and praying that the rains are going to be as abundant for the next two or more seasons at least. This would be Happy Days for sure. — Silas Deya.

*** Response to “Soul Jah Love engages new manager”

As someone who has worked in the industry for a long time, I know that some artistes only bring out their full talent when they work with people they are comfortable with. Unlike other professions, music is personal. — Leedsvoice

*** Response to “Glamour boys face reality check”

Lloyd Mutasa has always been a classy, humble dude. I also feel for the Dynamos fans, as the biggest club in the country, expectations are always very high. We need to be realistic though, this isn’t the same Dynamos that used to dominate competitions. It used to be every player’s dream to play for Dynamos, but it’s no longer the case. Mutasa is working with a squad that’s average at best. They are a work in progress, and results won’t be coming overnight. — Judas Iscariot.

Most rural elders are affected by loneliness, a nagging issue that drive many to early demise. As children grow and walk away from the nest, the once hive of activity homestead gets isolated. Holidays or no holidays the young families hang around towns or visit holiday destinations to freshen up. No wonder some races find it noble to place their elders in “homes”, under care givers. More often than not, the older father dies first leaving behind a very lonely old woman in not so good health. When false witch hunters (tsikamutandas) visit, the innocent old woman with “red” eyes (on account of smoke and age) is the first suspect. Are traditions and customs in their entirety serving us right? — Thomas Murisa. Harare.

*** Cases of baby dumping are on the rise, newly born tots are mercilessly left to die by their heart-less mothers. Why carry the pregnancy in the first place? Condoms and family planning tablets are available in abundance, avoid getting pregnant if not ready to receive and care for the child. Maybe the abandoned baby is the only child God had blessed that woman with for the rest of her life. — Tafadzwa Makone, Chinhoyi.

Response to “President reassigns 10 perm secs”

Minister and Deputy Minister are political roles and they give direction to policy issues. Permanent Secretary is the Chief Administrator of a ministry playing the role similar to that of company CEO. Directors are heads of portfolios in a ministry. — Sabelo Nare.
