John 17 vs 4; “I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given me to do.” NOT long ago some one asked me how I knew what my calling was. I suppose we are all confronted by that question at some stage, and many of us are still to discover where God wants them to be and where He is taking them.

It took me a considerable amount of time to get to a point where I could answer that question to myself.

With a little help from my favourite author, I have now come to the conclusion that God speaks to us using actions, mediums and people, depending on who we are, to get us to where we should be.

Jonah was clearly asked by God to go and preach in Ninevah, he had no doubt that he had a work to do there, but he allowed his personal fears to go ahead of God’s call for his life.

Many of us are guilty of that, we know what God wants us to do, but because we are afraid to do what he wants us to do, we spend the greater part of our lives running away.

Like in Jonah’s case, this comes with disastrous consequences.

One should never run away from the call of God. Regardless of how faint the voice may be, if the Lord has asked you to do a work, do it. He will always provide you with the resources, the people and the strength you need to do His work.

Your circumstances today are systematically leading you to His will for your life. Take time to hear Him and when you do, you shall work in His spirit. The impossible will become possible. Be blessed. REFLECTIONS OF A WORK IN PROGRESS ...
