Response to “death penalty quashed”

There are heartless murderers out there. Think about the gang that was arrested by ZRP Mbare/Waterfalls this week. They have murder as one of the hobbies on their CVs: where and how do we keep such people in society? They definitely have no place among the living. — Gamba Renyika.

*** You don’t have a close relative who has been murdered in cold blood. This is necessary, one cannot kill and let go. If everyone has the right to life what about the soul which could have been ended prematurely? Let’s not Christianise everything. — Tafadzwa Makone.

*** Response to “CMED boss murdered” That Pillary is, has been and will remain my number one suspect. Why did she order that the mattress be burnt? Why did she take that long in the room before alerting others on such an alarming incident? Why hiring a lawyer if she had straightforward answers? You can cheat the whole world, but the Almighty and creator is above all and watching. — Ray Mbada.

RABBIT farming has taken the country by storm, hopefully it does not go the way of quails, potatoes-in-sacks and jatropha seeds. Quite a number of eateries are now serving rabbit meat dishes, a mouth-watering cuisine with that gamely taste, call it wild. Micro livestock like rabbits have a short turnaround time, are bulk feeders that can utilise a lot of greens and can be kept in simple cages.

Schools can also keep rabbits for both meat and sales to the surrounding communities. A few rabbits for breeding stock can quickly fill up the hutches in few months’ time. In countries like France, China and Kenya, rabbit farming is big business, bringing good income to many households and companies. They have even set up special abattoirs for slaughtering and processing rabbit meat. — Thomas Murisa, Harare.

*** I certainly believe death penalty is still wanted at law as a somewhat preventive measure against wanton murders with constructive intent. However, in all cases where death penalty is the ultimate judgment it has to be proven beyond reasonable doubt that it’s a first degree murder. The Old Testament law commanded the death penalty for various acts: murder (Exodus 21:12), kidnapping (Exodus 21:16), bestiality (Exodus 22:19), adultery (Leviticus 20:10), homosexuality (Leviticus 20:13), being a false prophet (Deuteronomy 13:5), prostitution and rape (Deuteronomy 22:24), and several other crimes. — Tendai Mhaka, Harare. www.herald.co.zw

Response to “$3,8m windfall for Harare City”

Harare City Council fathers, to my assessment, the houses are 55-years-old and they are being priced at par with houses that are 10-15 years old. I think the pricing is not fair. — Sambiri
