Stop competing against each other

-

1 Peter 4 vs 8-10; “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

OFTEN times our human emotions get the better of us, in instances like that we end up doing things that, upon reflection and on hindsight, we are astounded at how we could have done anything like that.

We all have people we admire or look up to and there are people that we interact with who hold positions of influence, but we convince ourselves that we can do a better job than they can.

Our human emotions make us think that we can do better than the other person can. In a bid to prove that point we become very critical and ultimately destructive in trying to show that we can do better.

This phenomenon can be found in our workplaces, places of recreation and even in our places of worship. So much energy is lost competing and trying to outdo each other and tear each other down, and in the end very little is achieved.

God created a spirit in each of us that, if we allow, can lead us to do the right thing through His bearing and His word.

This spirit can slowly prompt us to love, to be patient, to be tolerant and above all to always do the right thing even when we are confronted with our natural desire to be evil and to get ahead at the expense of others.

Take a moment to sit down and reflect on your actions today. Pray that you become a better person who resonates the grace, mercy and love of God.

Be blessed.
