Response to “Manheru: Adieus and Hello Zimbabwe”

Will miss Nathaniel Manheru. — @tatechib78.

*** Well, at least he said he’ll be back. Tell Charamba that his fans are upset. — @ CShoriwaManUTD.

*** Will miss the brilliance of #Nathaniel Manheru, his columns made my Saturdays. Rest well Cde, job well done! — @ It’sMeTheAfrican.

Response to “Children have a right to freedom of religion”

Freedom of religion means that the parent has a right to impart their religion to their child. If you want your child to grow up in a Christian environment, that is your prerogative and you must exercise it at home, not at schools. I, for one, do not want my children to grow up brainwashed. — Garikai Zviyambe. @HeraldZimbabwe The Herald — Zimbabwe SMS/WhatsApp: +263774111101

Despite a hive of activities and heavy human traffic at the Harare Civil Court complex, the place is noticeably clean. At some Government premises hygiene has taken the back seat, with pieces of paper and used food boxes littering the complexes. At the Civil Courts, it’s a different story, litter bins are well-placed at strategic points with no clutter in sight. Thumbs up to the cleaners at the Harare Civil Courts, the place is invitingly clean. You have made us proud, keep up the good work. — TM, Harare.

*** Lloyd Chitembwe and Callisto Pasuwa share the same common denominator; they come short technically when the going gets tough. Chitembwe must stop the blame game and bring back the winning formula. — Cde Bla Max Boomerang, Harare.

*** Someone suggested fitting speed governing devices on buses, heavy trucks and kombis, a very noble idea indeed. All it needs is a Government directive and it’s done. The carnage on our roads cannot be left escalating all the time with unnecessary loss of lives at the hands of speeding buses and trucks. If buses are made not to exceed 100 kilometres per hour or even 80km/hr, a lot of accidents would be avoided. Let’s drive to arrive in peace, not in pieces. — Thomas Murisa, Harare. www.herald.co.zw

Response to “Children have a right to freedom of religion”

At what age do children have a right to choose their own religion? This is rather too ambiguous for a scholarly person to publicly pronounce. Psychic deficiency? We love our children, who should be taught the moral values of Christianity and African traditional religion. Let’s not hide behind wrong constitutions. — Marx.

*** Response to “The DeMbare juggernaut”

Well done again DeMbare. So that’s how it is, Biggie Zuze from nowhere steals the limelight from the current King of Coaches, Samaita. Nevertheless, it remains team work. — Eliah.

*** Response to “Chinamasa clarifies Command Agric”

The more the success of Command Agriculture is trumpeted, the more sceptics will become. Why is this even an issue if Sakunda Holdings supported it? Now with the bumper harvest they can be paid back.

Surely there are figures about harvests, about the costs, about the anticipated profits (if any) from this programme. Even when Professor Moyo is criticising it, people can see through his hollow (if figures prove otherwise) reasoning. — Umfansimbi.

*** Response to “Manheru: Adieus and Hello Zimbabwe”

Thank you Mhofu for all those wise words. I have followed your pieces over the years. It has been an eye opener. Not every piece has been easy to accept, but you have enlightened me. The biggest lesson I learnt from you was accepting colonial reality is not following the master’s bidding. — Tapiwa Mubonderi.
