SALISBURY, 28 June 1917. — As members of the second Rhodesia Regiment and other soldiers are now returning to camp in Salisbury in considerable numbers, the period of leave allotted having expired, it is well that the community should do what is possible to relieve the somewhat monotonous round of camp life.
With this end in view the Women’s Association of the Presbyterian Church decided to resume the entertainments which had occasionally been given in the past when the number of men in camp warranted such provision for them.
An entertainment was accordingly held in the Presbyterian Church Hall on Tuesday evening. Its popularity with the men may be ganged from the fact that the hall was hardly large enough to accommodate the many who were present —a flattering testimony of appreciation to the efforts of the promoters.
