Response to “Cop killed by Harvest House vendors”
It is very unfortunate, lawlessness in any form, shape or manner is not acceptable. If this person is sent to jail no one will look after his family. Some people were sentenced to 20 years and the family complained of negligence after. Let us refrain from violence. — Pierre Paul.

The 1980 hand of reconciliation that was extended to both sell-outs during the liberation struggle and Rhodesians is now haunting our revolutionary party ZANU-PF big time. Rhodesians imposed illegal sanctions on our country while this weird minister of factionalism, tribalism and succession “Professor” Jonso is desperately fighting ZANU-PF from within. Kudos to the legendary Air Marshal Perrance Shiri for exposing this former Chimwenje commander and Mgagao deserter. — Cde Bla Max Boomerang.
*** The Government commission on pensions valuation report from Z$ to US$ for private schemes must be published by now. Struggling pensioners expect the Government to arbitrate between starving pensioners and those who administered and invested pension funds before the collapse of the Z$. Both Ministers of Labour and Finance must approach the President for the result of that commission. Maybe the Office of the President and Cabinet can dust the report and inform the nation and pensioners in particular. — Cde Mzvinavhu.
*** Zimbabwean sport has been on a roll lately. First the Warriors did their thing at the Cosafa Cup, the Chevrons have now joined them in glory and won the series 3-2 against Sri Lanka. Well done to Heath Streak, Makhaya Ntini and the rest of the coaching staff as well as the Chevrons for putting on a spirited performance. Also on the sporting front, our Craven Week rugby teams have been impeccable as well. The U18 girls won all their matches and the U13 boys are so far unbeaten. The future is bright. — Thomas Kumirai, Harare.
Response to “New twist in city kombi bribery case . . . Police Act no longer applies to me, says ex-cop”
Technically, she is spot on, her retirement was accepted by the employer so she can no longer be disciplined by the same employer. The force let her off the hook, a terrible error of judgment indeed by the employer, (or let go intentionally). I get a feeling those in charge of admin in public institutions are incompetent or indifferent, how was the retirement accepted? — Tambai Mese Mujairane.
*** Response to NSSA increases pension payouts
What is critical is to reduce the age of accessibility to the pension from 60 to 50 years. This is in line with the reduced mortality rate and we need to bear in mind that more than 80 percent of Zimbabweans are no longer in employment, the majority of who are yet to attain 60 and are being told to wait for 10 years before they can start accessing the pensions in an environment where prospects of re-employment to many are zero. There is something terribly wrong here and this need to be worked on as soon as possible. — Eliah.
