Jose Mourinho’s war chest

-

LONDON. - Jose Mourinho still has more than £100million to spend to mount a title charge this season, it can be revealed.

The United chief has already splashed out a hefty £110m during this transfer window on Victor Lindelof and £75million man Romelu Lukaku.

But United have given the ex-Chelsea chief a bumper warchest to improve his squad and help him win the English Premier League soccer title. Mourinho wants to splash out around £35million on Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic to improve his attacking options.

He also wants to bring in another defender, to sure-up at the back and mount a charge at being champions.

The former Real Madrid manager also wants a defensive midfielder with Tottenham ace Eric Dier and Roma star Raidja Nainggolan both looked at.

An Old Trafford source said: “The club have already invested a lot into the playing squad this summer.

“But there is still a lot left in the coffers and it’s all there for Jose to spend on whoever he likes.

“Lukaku and Lindelof were just the start of what is going to be a busy summer at Old Trafford with lots of ins and outs.

“This is going to be a huge window for the club with loads of players leaving and plenty coming in as well.”

If Mourinho forks-out the rest of his transfer kitty, it would be the Red Devils biggest ever spending summer.

He wants to bring in at least another three new faces, on top of offloading a number of players from the club.

Adnan Januzaj has been sold already in a £9,8million deal to Spanish side Real Sociedad after a poor loan spell at Sunderland. - The Sun.
