A NEW reality acting talent show, Zollywood’s Finest will be launched this month to scout for acting talent.

In the show, unknown hopeful participants will battle through gruelling auditions in an effort to become Zimbabwe’s top actors and actresses.

“On July 29 we are holding open auditions at the University of Zimbabwe BeitHall and from the contestants that will come, only sixteen people will move into the next round,” said Cyril Mudzinganyama, the creator and executive producer.

Mudzinganyama who is a Master of Philosophy student in television production and a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Zimbabwe says he is passionate about film.

“What drove me to come up with this show is the zeal to reignite the Zimbabwean film industry. There is a lot of acting talent in Zimbabwe but it is not being natured and being given the platform,” he said.

On the second round of the auditions, participants will showcase in front of a live performance.

“The next round will see contestants battling out through acting in properly directed and set film scenes. These scenes will be staged in front of an audience and judges. Each week, two people will be evicted until we have a winner,” said Mudzinganyama.

After the auditions, the winner will take a leading role in Zimbabwe’s first telenovela, “Love and Weakness” which Mudzinganyama has already written and the other fifteen finalists will be given supporting roles.

The auditions are open to all aspiring actors and actresses in Zimbabwe.
