MOST Christians are broke because they are always giving and they are giving what is not required. You have to understand that a Christian life is a life of receiving. There is a life that God has handed over to His people but most Christians do not understand that life He offered. That is why when we are broke we think we have more of God, it is because we do not understand what God is offering.

You need to understand that what really makes you prosperous is not all about giving. When God blesses you, get to that place where you properly assess that your outlet is smaller than your inlet. You do not give more than you receive. Most people are not prospering because they are giving more than they are receiving. What you give has to be less if you want to prosper. Getting to a billion dollars requires that you keep some of the money. If you are always giving out money, you cannot reach the billion dollar threshold.

There are things you are trying to do now, maybe in trying to please God and those are the things that are actually making you broke. Most Christians are broke, firstly, because they have given their lives to God and have not received the life He has given to them. The other reason is that they are trying to change the world. Changing the world is something that Jesus has already tried. If that is your mission you have to abort it right away because you cannot change the world.

Some of the people are trying to do more instead of doing what they have been doing in a better way. Jesus came to find and save that which was lost; of the eight billion people on earth He has only recovered two billion so far.

There is something very interesting in the word of God. A prophet by the name Isaiah was sent to King Hezekiah by God to deliver a message. “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said unto him, ‘Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live’.”(2 Kings 20:1). When the prophet left the king he cried before God asking Him to remember how he had walked in truth and lived a perfect life.

By saying this he was not lying to God, he was telling the truth. Inasmuch as he was perfect, truthful and righteous before God, there was no order in his life. You can be holy all you want but understand that your righteousness can never decide your financial status.

Who told you that money goes to holy people? If that is the case, how then can you explain the drug lords? They are not righteous neither are they missionaries but they have all the money they need. The missionaries do not have the money and yet they are serving God and are straight forward.

In the case of Hezekiah you have to understand that it was not just a prophecy being given to the king, it is a concept God has that you need to grasp. When you see a prophet moving from one point to the other delivering a message, you need to analyse the message delivered. There are certain prophecies that when you look at them they are universal. It is a message that though it is given to somebody you can have it to yourself, apply it and still get the same results.

When God sent the prophet to advise the king to put his house in order, you should not take that as Hezekiah’s prophecy alone; that is God’s idea. In the message that he delivered to the king, the most important part was never to do with death. When it comes to death, whether your house is in order or not you can still die, therefore death was not the main issue the prophet carried to the king. The message was not really about death but order.

The prophet was telling Hezekiah that he should not die unless there was order in his house. It is a concept from God, there has to be order before you exit. This is the mind of God; according to His way of thinking a person should not die leaving disorder behind. It is a message from God to Hezekiah and to all of us. You can apply that same prophecy to yourself and say why should I die and leave disorder behind me. Disorder is against God’s way of thinking.

Money is an interesting thing. It requires a certain attitude and behaviour that you need to have before it can follow you. Money has its own expectations, it will demand you do certain things and develop a certain language before it can be with you. In the presence of disorder there is no prosperity, whether in a nation or family. If you want to prosper in life and make money, order is the key.

There are things that those that are rich are doing every time that most people are not doing. There are times when you really have to look around you and be the first person you blame if there is anything wrong in your life. You have to start by blaming yourself and then later on you can blame others.

If you are always blaming somebody for the wrongs you see in your life, it is most likely that your life is never going to change. If you blame somebody you will then have to wait until the person decides to change before your life can change. But, if you blame yourself you can make a decision to change today without other people having to make the decision first. Just by changing yourself your entire life can change.

People always give God reason that if He can bless them they will do certain things for Him yet He knows that they are never going to do those things. You have to be honest with God, tell Him that you need money for yourself. You should not hide behind helping widows and orphans, you need it for yourself first. If you are serious you should not have a problem with what people say, if you do not want people to discuss you, you should not do anything outstanding. If you do anything outstanding people will talk about you and they will lie. If you want to be outstanding in life you have to be willing to become the topic. People have to discuss you and talk about you.
