Use your time wisely

-

EPHESIANS 5 vs 15 – 17

“Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”

I have a young lawyer who works for the firm of attorneys that I use sometimes, he is a very hardworking and focused individual. He has not been practicing for very long, but it’s evident, based on the few times he has represented me, that he has great potential. The sky is the limit, should he embrace some of the basic rules of achieving success and more importantly, allow God to lead, direct and open his paths for him.

He came to visit me on Sunday, he had never done so before but he did this past weekend. During the course of our discussion we focused on the elements of success. Humanity tends to define success as the accumulation of wealth and its subsequent effects. I would like to differ slightly with that assertion; success, in my view, is the sum total of what we use our time for.

Time is one of those elements we tend to disregard, but is somehow very important in terms of how it shapes the people we are. So many opportunities are missed as a result of how we blatantly misuse this finite resource. It’s often easier to think of resources that are available to us as things that are tangible, yet time is also a resource. It is a diminishing resource that goes through our hands with the passing of each day. Be blessed! REFLECTIONS OF A WORK IN PROGRESS. ..
