Council must fix burst sewer pipes

-

EDITOR — Burst sewer pipes are a health time bomb as they may result in outbreaks of diseases like diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid.

City fathers have been slow in dealing with burst sewer pipes in residential areas and residents have complained endless times.

Bacteria like salmonella or pinworms can make their way into houses through even slightly split pipes. Bacteria can cause extensive illnesses that might put you in a hospital bed for a while, which will inconvenience a family if the disease affects the breadwinner.
