Wenger loses managerial mojo
LONDON. — Arsene Wenger has lot his managerial mojo, according to former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan. Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool yesterday, he claimed Wenger has lost the spark that used to make him one of Europe’s top bosses. “Compare Liverpool to Arsenal, you have a manager who has been there 20 years. I think the oxygen has gone out of his management,” Jordan said on Sky Sports.
“With no Wenger bashing, he’s a fantastic manager, but everyone has their time. Everyone is a product of their environment.
“Everyone has to say stuff that is relevant, pertinent and something people will focus on, and I feel Arsenal has lost its oxygen and that comes from the manager. “I’m not someone who wants to bate Wenger out but with the media last year, I felt very sorry for him up until the point where he carried on the circus.
“He said he had something to say but wasn’t going to say it now and I thought ‘when have you moved from being a football manager to being a performer and holding a circus together for the basis of the media?’
“I feel Arsenal have got to change but I think they will — not this season. That will take them to a level.
“At Liverpool, Klopp is a new breed. He’s got the Mourinho factor but with a grin now. He’s got the electric personality.
“I’m not sure he’s pulling up that many trees right now but he’s got that kind of personality that players are gravitating to.”
