Partnering with the voice of God Part 2

Reproduced below are excerpts of a sermon delivered by Emmanuel Makandiwa on Sunday, 26 June 2016, Youth Service.

“AND the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.”(2 Kings 6:1-2).

You have to consult the voice of God on every matter of your life no matter how easy it might be. God is involved in every decision we make no matter how fast we can choose something. You can never be faster than the voice of God and it is always present in every decision we make, warning and trying to stop us. We are not paying attention to God’s opinion because we have trusted ourselves more than we have trusted the voice of God. In everything you can decide to do there is always the voice of God forever present whispering to you not to make certain turns in life. You have to come to that place where you stop arguing with the voice of God.

You have to follow instructions of the Holy Spirit even some that might seem to be foolish. You have to do things that you cannot explain to your friends, like Abraham who was commanded to leave his father’s house. God could not even tell Abraham the place He was taking him to until he had left his father’s house. It does not make sense if you listen to it. When you come to God you have to know who He is; understand His abilities and know that He does not have weaknesses.

We come to God because we have weaknesses and we come to be strengthened. We have to discern His interests and what pleasures Him. If God would want to talk to you, what method gives Him joy and what approach does He prefer?

If you want to avoid many tragedies in life you need to muster the art of communication.

Learn to listen to the voice of God long enough until you are able to recognise it. You have to partner with the voice of God to a point where you know it when God is speaking. If you make a covenant with the voice of God your life will be preserved. You should not fight and oppose the voice of God because it makes you sick and you will die early; it is suicidal to oppose the voice of God. What is killing most people is opposing the voice of God.

People would not deliberately ignore the voice of God, but the problem is that most people are not able to distinguish the voice of God from the many voices speaking to them. They will end up ignoring even the voice of God because they do not know how to recognise it.

You need to be properly positioned because when God is talking to us we receive His voice from different frequencies.

There is a fine tuning needed in your spirit in order for you to hear what God is communicating.

Balaam, when he wanted to curse God’s people he had to change places several times because he was trying to find the right frequency.

If you keep on listening to the voice of God you will establish a certain line that brings messages into your spirit. There is a line that brings messages into your spirit and if you identify that line you have to patent it, own it and protect it as your own.

Every time you are praying you would have to look for that line.

Knowing the voice of God is the only security you have especially during our era, it gives you confidence when making certain critical decisions in life.

Knowing that you have ears that can hear God and eyes that see His voice you will know the right thing to do concerning every situation.

Imagine if Eve had decided to ignore the voice of the serpent, what sort of earth would we have right now? The day she was tempted, had she decided to ignore the voice of the serpent, how many blessings could have been prevailing around us right now?

There would be no death, sickness, accidents, wars and conflicts. All this is as a result of one voice that should have been ignored, but somebody listened and paid attention to it. Most disasters we see in people’s lives are as a result of a voice they listened to which they should have ignored.

One voice which Eve listened to affected the entire planet earth, everything catastrophic you see is because of one voice that should have been ignored. You are where you are today because of a voice you listened to or ignored. Whether you are in prosperity or you are broke, it is because of a voice which has taken you to where you are.

There are voices you should learn to ignore because it is not all voices you hear that are coming from God, some are coming from the serpent. When Satan finally decides to speak to you, will you be able to distinguish and know that it is not God’s voice? When many people are bringing the same message to you advising you to take a certain course in life and just one person says otherwise, will you be able to distinguish the voice of God from the rest of the voices? You have to know it when it is God speaking. It is not every time that God talks to you, sometimes He just takes you to places.

There are times when He does not want to talk to you, but He sponsors your visit in the spirit and takes you places to show you things.

This is when God does not say anything to you, but He shows you something. But are you not heavy in the spirit, can God carry you anywhere and show you what you are going to become?

Your future should not come to you as a surprise, you can go there now and see what you are going to become. You will then come back and begin to work on how you will attain that which God has shown you in your future.

You will have a focused mind knowing exactly who you are going to be. You will just have to come back and carry your body into the future that you would have already visited. People need to understand spiritual laws so that they will be able to maximise opportunities offered by God in the spirit.

These are people who do not just pray, but they make things happen when they pray.

Be sensitive to the voice of God.
