David was anointed as the next king to succeed Saul. God had found Saul’s actions displeasing and though he continued to reign, the glory of the LORD had departed from him.

He had the outward appearance of a man in charge, but he was tormented by depression. His spirit was unsettled and troubled, even though he continued to sit on the throne.

The outward appearance of power as understood by the human eye was there to see, but the approval and protection of heaven had departed from him.

Sometimes the LORD decides to place a crown on your head, but he does not take away the sharp rocks and thorns on your path that must burden and afflict you on the journey to your ordination.

David was told that he would be king, the prophet anointed him, but before the time he finally sat on the throne he had to duck and dive, run for dear life and cry in anguish, until he finally got to the place GOD had long chosen for him through His grace and promise.

So many are anointed, but lack the faith to sit on the throne, they lack the spiritual strength to hold on until the LORD declares that they have arrived. They see what belongs to them in others, but lack the spiritual vision to notice that the glory of the Lord has departed from those holding the positions.

Whatever the LORD has placed in your heart as a burden to be fulfilled through the anointing, you have received it and it shall be.

No matter what hurdles have been put in your path by the Sauls of your life, be assured that God is not a man that can be defeated by flesh and His plans and His plans alone shall come to the fore.

Accept the crown of glory that you have been given. Do the work as directed by Him who sees all. Be Blessed. REFLECTIONS OF A WORK IN PROGRESS ...
