PREPARATIONS for the Mashonaland Central Presidential Youth Interface Rally slated for Chipadze Stadium went a gear up yesterday with various expansion works for the venue being carried out as the province targets 150 000 to attend the event.

The Mashonaland Central event is the eighth in a series of rallies that have been organised by the ZANU-PF Youth League.

ZANU-PF Mashonaland Central Provincial Youth chairman Cde Isaiah Mandaza said preparations were proceeding smoothly.

“Preparations are underway and we have received equipment from Ashanti to work on the pitch while painters and builders are rehabilitating the perimeter wall.

“Work is also in progress for the enlargement of Chipadze Stadium to carry the 150 000 strong crowd expected for the event,” Cde Mandaza said.

Major roads in Bindura are also being resurfaced in preparation for the Saturday’s meeting.

The Presidential Interface rallies have so far been held in Mashonaland East and West, Manicaland, Matabeleland North and South, Midlands and Masvingo provinces.

After the Mashonaland Central rally, the next one will be held in Bulawayo at a date to be announced with the last leg slated for Harare.

The Presidential Youth Interface rallies have been highly-subscribed with the revolutionary party calling on its supporters to continue with the same mobilisation efforts in next year’s harmonised elections.

In his address during the last rally held in the Midlands Capital of Gweru, President Mugabe commended the Youth League for coming up with the Presidential Youth Interface initiative saying they had set an example on mass mobilisation.
