Response to ‘Admin issues’ delay road project

All the power to get this project going is invested in Government. The barrier that is blocking commencement of this major problem needs to be dealt with urgently. Beitbridge-Harare road is one of the busiest highways and giant vehicles such as haulage trucks and buses move along that road. Accidents in such a busy road ought to be avoided in every way. — @chichie23.

*** Response to ‘Council commissions $30m equipment’

We are delighted by this positive report and looking forward to improved service delivery by the council. This development should mark an end to bad reports about no refuse collection — @taro18.

Response to ‘Truckers major STI drivers’

This is true and there is need for truck drivers to desist from targeting young girls who still have a whole future ahead of them.

Different girls have different sources of pressure that may force them to give in to anything that gives them money. Truck drivers should not take advantage of this. — Praise Rubaya.

*** Response to ‘Man rapes daughter (13)’

This is unheard of. Crimes of rape are becoming the order of the day. Government has to see to it that perpetrators of these crimes are punished mercilessly, so that everyone else fears the consequences of such a crime. — Tinotenda Dlamini.

Response to ‘Stragglers cricket leaving a mark’

Thumbs up to Stanbic Bank for supporting the Stragglers cricket, a cricket youth tournament where young, untapped talent can be scouted with the objective of thrusting them into our senior cricket sides. This enhances continuity of the game in the country. There are a lot of young cricket talent in the country who can follow the path taken by such local stars like Tatenda Taibu, Hamilton Masakadza and all those former and present Chevrons stars who rose and graduated from High schools to play for the national team. — Felix Zonke, Harare.

*** Response to ‘Ntouba toast of Harare Derby’

Well done Dynamos, but a lot of work still needs to be done in relation to ball control in the midfield. Some defenders still just pumping balls forward. Upfront passes are still being rushed and the team is poor when dealing with aerial balls. As for CAPS they did not have a formula upfront, just running hoping that the ball will get into the nets. — Chaps.

*** Child sexual abuse is a bad omen bedevilling communities countrywide. Schoolchildren have become age groups of predation, targeted by rogue and perverse men. School caretakers and school bus drivers must be mature men. It may not be a full proof precise, but the chances of them abusing innocent children are minimised. Young schoolchildren must not be left unsupervised at playgrounds and secluded places. Children must move in groups, not plodding home alone when lustful men are lurking in the shrubbery. Kids are leaders of tomorrow, let’s protect them. Also, kidnappers are on the prowl, keep a close eye on your children. — @ Thomas Murisa.

Response to ‘Chitungwiza residents stage demo’

This sign shows that there are many grievances that people have against the responsible council. Nobody wants to solve issues aggressively, but when peaceful voices are not heard, revolting will be the only option. Now that Chitungwiza Municipality has been exposed to the whole nation, it is hard to leave certain issues unaddressed because everyone, the whole nation, is keeping an eye on them. — Constance Chirimubwe.
