Musicians to party at First Farai birthday bash

ALL is set for sungura musician First Farai’s birthday bash to be held on Sunday at City Sports Bar.

A number of musicians will perform at the event to mark First Farai’s 39th birthday.

In an interview, the musician whose real name is Aliya Mwanambo said the stage was set for the big day.

“I owe my life, my music career and my family to God. The stage is set for the big day and some of the musicians who are billed to perform include Shuramurov­e, Sulumani Chimbetu, Romeo Gasa, Soman- dla Ndebele, Progress Chipfumo, Zoey, Apama, Simon Mutambi, Tendai Dembo and Nicholas Zakaria among others,” he said.

“This is a time too for me to celebrate with my fans and sungura fanatics should come as I am also going to perform on the night. We have a lot of invited respectabl­e personalit­ies who are set to grace the event,” he said.

He said the celebrator­y mood will extend till month-end as he will unleash his 13th album.

“My next album is called ‘Earthquake – Chandengen­da Chimugeded­za’ which has six tracks. So far I am doing final touches on it and after the birthday celebratio­ns will the focus on the album launch,” he said.

First Farai said there was no theme for the party as guests are free to don whatever they want.

“You know with some of our fans, we don’t have specifics on that issue. We just want people to come and party,” he said.
