SALISBURY, 13 September 1967. — The first few months of this year have provided some encouraging export signs, but positive and dynamic advances into world export markets are needed, the president of Salisbury Chamber of Commerce, Mr Cecil Wright, says in the Chamber’s annual report just published.
“A great challenge faces the ingenuity of private enterprise in the coming year, as the growth of our economy, to a large extent, will reflect export successes,” says Mr Wright.
“Happily, the first few months of 1967 have provided some encouraging signs which show that, in spite of sanctions, comparatively satisfactory progress has been made.
Much more, however, is needed, and businessmen should pay the greatest attention to positive and dynamic advances.
The report says the Chamber’s trade promotions section has helped members find new supply lines and discovered and explored further cracks in the sanctions wall.
