SUMITOMO Rubber South Africa (SRSA), the manufacturer and distributor of Dunlop tyres, has launched an all-round performance characteristics new Dunlop SP Sport FM800 tyre.

The new tyres will soon be distributed in National Tyre Services stores countrywide. Zimbabwe will be the first market outside South Africa to benefit from this new product.

The new versatile Dunlop tyre will be offering an all-round tyre to “own” the road between entry level and ultra-high performance vehicle fitment.

The new brand is expected to have improved efficiency and breaking at a wet braking distance to ensure an enhanced safety on the roads.

SRSA chief executive officer Mr Riaz Haffejee said: “The recent tests of the FM800 have yielded impressive results when benchmarked against selected competitors in this market segment.

“This included a 21,5 percent improvement in the subjective driving experience and a 14,7 percent reduction in the wet breaking distance when compared to selected competitors.”

Meanwhile, NTS who are the local distributor of Dunlop tyres, has already started making plans to expand their footprint across the country by establishing new stores that will cater for the expanding motor equipment industry.

NTS commercial director Albert Ushe said: “NTS has 13 branches across the country with the recent one just open in August, located in downtown Harare. We offer expanded services at the new branch covering new tyres, suspension services exhaust fittings and repairs and various car accessories.

“We opened two Dunlop express stores in Zvishavane and Kwekwe in 2016 and plans are underway to convert more stores into Dunlop Zones and Express stores before the end of this year.

“We have also established tyre selling points in six OK Mart stores countrywide,” said Mr Ushe.
