Manyuchi now Chikomba District brand ambassador
ZIMBABWE’s boxing superstar Charles Manyuchi (pictured) is now Chikomba Rural District Council’s brand ambassador.
Chikomba RDC chief executive Mr Luckson Mutara confirmed the development in an interview yesterday.
He said council roped in the pugilist to help market its goods and services to boost investment in the district.
“Besides him being very famous, Charles Manyuchi is now a full time Chivhu resident who has shown great enthusiasm in developing this district since he settled here,” Mr Mutara said.
Manyuchi applauded the idea of representing Chikomba RDC in its business strategies and endeavours to the outer world.
“Chikomba is my home area, therefore, I am also a beneficiary to any form of development which occurs there,” he said.
“Being the council’s brand ambassador means that I will be also participating in the development processes of my community, something any youth could be proud of.”
Manyuchi’s sponsor, Mr T35, hailed the recognition the boxer received from the local authority.
“That Chikomba RDC chose Manyuchi as its brand ambassador shows that we, as his sponsors, are doing a great job,” said the firm.
“What we value as entrepreneurs is the growth of communities and we will continue supporting Manyuchi in enabling development, not only in Chikomba, but throughout the country.”
Manyuchi donated a 35-seater omnibus to Chikomba RDC in 2016.
He has also invested towards the construction of a sports academy in Chivhu, which is aimed at boosting sporting in the district.
