Response to “Illegal currency dealers counting losses”

Money changers have feasted in this prevailing situation of shortages of foreign currency in Zimbabwe. Some exchange rates they offered were exaggerated and there was nothing we could do due to desperation. We hope the money government got from Afrexim Bank helps stabilise things in Zimbabwe. — MasimbaJuru.

*** Response to “Woman burns self to death”

Everyone goes through something at some point in their lives, but that does not mean they don’t deserve to live. We should all be brave and strong and be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. There is a deep wound that is left especially in the hearts of loved ones left behind when one decides to end their own life. — Ruth Rubaya.

Response to “Police raid forex dealers”

The point that was raised by one of the forex dealers of dealing with the source is sensible. We have realised that most illegal activities taking place in this country are linked to prominent, but corrupt people. What amazes me is that these people already have money, but they are selfish enough to abuse their capabilities by making the lives of Zimbabweans harder. — Colleta Nyota.

*** Response to “Police impound 2 Smart Express buses”

I think it’s better for the perpetrators of this incident to own up. Whether they get caught or not, the consequences will still be suffered. They are even worse if they decide to keep quiet about the matter because the thought of someone dying after they harassed him is enough to haunt them forever. — Josephine Mariga.

Response to “Kariba South project nears completion”

We are delighted by this update because we know that it is through adequate supply of power that we are able to be productive. A lot will also be saved if we attain enough sources of power. Generators are becoming more difficult to use especially during this time where we have fuel and cash shortages. — Justin Gapara.

*** Response to “Govt backtracks on councils’ borrowing directive”

This is a good decision. Councils have large amounts of debts and borrowing more money will not make it any better. They have to find ways of making Zimbabwean citizens who owe them pay. The idea of having prepaid water meters could be a solution because they can just deduct a certain percentage from what the citizen would have paid. — Valeria Dube.

*** Response to “Cash, forex traders put on notice”

It’s time Government had total control of what is happening in Zimbabwe. People are selling their commodities at absurd prices if one is buying in bond notes or using plastic money. — Patience Moyo. www.herald.co.zw

Response to “CR7 scores brace, Reds held”

We can never be afraid when Cristiano is in the field. He never lets his team and fans down, never has. — Tanatswa Shumba.

*** Response to “Residents snub budget meetings”

The impression that council gave to residents is long lasting and can only be erased if councils start showing sensitivity towards Zimbabwean citizens’ needs. There is no point in attending meetings because they disappoint the populace leading to bitterness. — Thabiso Ncube.
