- Arts Correspondent

TALENTED guitarist and vocalist Progress Chipfumo has made every Thursday a special day for his fans when he performs at Club Iridium. Chipfumo said having a constant day dedicated to one venue will ensure that his fans plan in advance to meet him at the special show.

The Thursday shows began last week and tonight he continues with his schedule.

“Sometimes we travel and fans have to check where we will be performing. I have left that part for weekends. I will be at Iridium every Thursday and I want to make it a special meeting day with my fans.

“They have to know that every Thursday I will be available. They do not have to ask around if they need a special time with me. I call it special because it is a show of special dedications,” said Chipfumo.

“I am happy with the reception that my album ‘Progress Check’ is getting and I the excitement at the shows is encouraging. Last Thursday we began well and we are hopeful that the show will grow as the weeks move on. It is a good time to have a mid-week party.”

Last Thursday hundreds of fans attended the show while Chipfumo belted out most of his hits with zeal. Songs like “Mangerengere”, “Garwe”, “Varombo Kuvarombo” and “Ndawana Wangu” shook the night.

Aggabu Nyabinde joined Chipfumo at the show and the night was a memorable affair of music and dance.

Chipfumo has promised a bigger event tonight and Yasini Dhala of Club Irridium said they will have specials every Thursday to excite their patrons.
