Life is a gift from the Almighty

Psalms 16 vs 11; “You will show me the path of life in Your presence is fullness of joy at Your right hand are pleasures forever-more.”

MEMBERS of a football team perished in a plane crash in the mountains of South America last year. In moments like these we sometimes wonder why bad things happen and whether this string of tragedy will ever end.

Prior to their passing, the team had just achieved a remarkable feat winning the semi-final match of the continental championship.

Little did they know that less than 72 hours later the majority of the team would be no more. Also amazing was the report that at least six people had survived the crash and were hospitalised pending recovery. The world sometimes has these stories of GOD’s divine hand where people are set apart and are given the opportunity to continue to live.

In times like this you can clearly see the value and the joy of life, you begin to see that life is worth living and that every moment is a gift to be cherished. We sometimes take this precious gift for granted and give all manner of excuses as to why we should not live to the fullest and thank GOD for everything.

Today you have been set apart to enjoy this gift that is life, take a minute or two to reflect on it and say to yourself, “LORD how can I honour you and thank you for this opportunity to be here today?” Love life and cherish the gift that it is. Give thanks to the LORD and make the best of every minute that He has granted you to be alive.
