Shabanie ready to pile the misery

SHABANIE Mine say they are intimidated by the vengeance of wounded title-chasers Chicken Inn when they square off in a Castle Lager Premiership duel at Maglas this afternoon.

The Gamecocks have struggled to hit top gear recently which has seen them fall off the pace in the race for the league championship. Losing three league games on the bounce to Yadah Stars, CAPS United and Highlanders has derailed their plans to win a second league title in three seasons. But they face a Shabanie side that has been impressive of late.

The Zvishavane side’s technical manager, Taku Shariwa, was in buoyant mood ahead of the match this afternoon.

“That they are fighting for the title means the game is going to be an interesting game of football both of us will be desperate for points,’’ he said.

“But as Shabanie Mine we are not intimidated and we will never be intimidated by anyone, we are only afraid of ourselves not anyone else.

“We desperately want maximum points in this match, we are in the relegation zone and we need to start collecting points to avoid relegation. “But the way the guys have been playing of late I am confident we will avoid relegation at the end of the season. “For this game we have prepared adequately for them and I am confident we have a chance of collecting all the points.

“It will, however, not be easy they are a very good team with a very good coach (Rahman Gumbo) and can beat anyone in this country on their day.’’
