School under exam probe

-

Zvishavane District education officials have reportedly started investigating Govarizadze Secondary School following reports of a paper leak.

Sources at the school told The Herald that the subject teacher, Ms Talent Mutomera, and Ms Tariro Nyoni have since been questioned over reports of the alleged paper leak.

“Ms Mutomera has been ques- tioned on her capacity as the subject teacher while her friend, Ms Tariro Nyoni is accused of owning a laptop which was used to store the leaked paper,” said the source.

The source said Ms Nyoni’s car was turned into a classroom where pupils were called in groups of four for drilling on how to answer the paper.

“The paper was written in the afternoon and for the greater part of Thursday, Nyoni’s laptop and car was used as lecture room to drill pupils on how to answer the leaked paper.”

“All hell broke loose when almost every pupil came out of the examination room celebrating. Some had to look for their teacher to thank her for leaking the paper,” said the source.

The school head Mr Last Sibanda yesterday denied allegations that his school leaked an examination paper.

“Those are lies from people probably with a hidden agenda.

“We are clean as a school and if there are any investigations to be done they will find our hands clean.

“The teachers who are said to be involved in leaking the paper do not teach that subject so there is no truth in everything being said,” he said.
