Exercise caution when hiring housemaids

EDITOR - The stories “Employer in court for raping maid” and “Suspicious ‘Madam Boss’ dips fingers into maid’s private parts” (The Herald, 21November, 2017) refer.

Wives should be aware of the personalities of their husbands and what they like. This is gives them an idea of what type of maid they should look for.

Men will obviously be attracted by what they see. A wise woman employs someone who is mature and will not end up tempting the man into behaving crazily.

Girls who look for domestic employment should also analyse situations. There are obviously advances that are made which give you clues of impending danger.

When that happens, one should quit the job. It’s better to save your life than to stay for money and have everything destroyed.

It is the shocking things that may lure a man into raping or having an affair with a maid. Domestic workers are only supposed to help out.

If they are the ones that do everything then a man is bound to be attracted to a hardworking and smart woman. There are some things that should be done by the mother of the house especially for her husband such as cooking, laundry and ironing his clothes.

If all this is done by the maid, then she will be seen as a better wife. Women should be wise and save each other from unfortunate incidents. Edna, Sakubva
