Taking his grace for granted

-

Hebrews 10 vs 26-27; “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.”

IT is commonplace for us to continue to sin on the basis that GOD continues to bless and prosper us. Against this backdrop one falls into the false belief that the LORD is overlooking all the bad things that they are doing.

We tend to test the LORD, we do something today then repeat it tomorrow and before long it’s a habit and it seems as if there is no form of collaborating retribution that takes place.

We are lured into a false sense of security that convinces us that the LORD understands sin and because He has not done anything about it, it must be okay.

The children of Israel fell into this state where they would do untold things and at times GOD would still accord them remarkable victories against their enemies even though they continued to wrong Him. The LORD would keep His anger at bay and give them the benefit of the doubt because He is slow to anger.

Our Father calls us each day to do the right things in every facet of our lives. Sometimes we fail in our duty to understand that just because He continues to bless us as He does, this does not in any way indicate that He is happy with what we may be doing.

However, it should be known that despite His long suffering nature and general tolerance, a time is coming where He will not be able to hold back His anger against us and we will all be accorded the justice we deserve for the things we are doing.

Be blessed.
