More Airzim planes will boost airport performance

-

EDITOR — The move that Government is making of increasing Air Zimbabwe planes is wise because our airport’s performance is really poor.

We have pleasant flights in terms of smoothness of the flights and I’m sure a lot of passengers would prefer using our planes. They are also affordable compared to other airlines. The only challenge was that there was a limited number of planes.

We should be able to have a significant number of planes taking off and landing every few minutes. We often have cases of having to use other alternatives because the bigger planes won’t be working.

This should be a thing of the past because it results in great loss as a country. Purchasing new planes is not the only solution to challenges that are being faced by our airport. We should also aim to increase the number of airlines that we host.

This will not only bring about improvement to our airport and airline, but many other businesses in the country will benefit with the coming in of foreigners in our country.

Other airports in Zimbabwe should also be fully functional so that people in different parts of the country can easily access air transport from where they will be.

In the long run, we should also be able to offer direct links to most visited cities in other countries such as Durban, Cape Town and with time, those that are out of the African continent.

This will maximise the outputs derived from air services we offer.

Other airlines from different countries are benefiting from passengers that could be using our planes. Tobias Machinguri, Via e-mail.
