Response to “Chilonga irrigation scheme runs dry”

The sad reality is that siltation is being exacerbated by the haphazard land resettlement, with new farmers growing along rivers and cutting trees willy nilly. Soon it will be Middle Sabi and Chisumbanje. —@ Tariraichisango.

*** Response to “Chiredzi council issues ultimatum to defaulters”

That’s a good move, but don’t you think you need to examine and check why people have not been paying their rates so that you issue ultimatums for a good cause. — @Shamiso.

*** Responses to “Boy (13) fails Grade 7 exam, commits suicide”

This is so sad, that is why we urge schools to have guidance and counselling departments where pupils go and get counselled so that they don’t let their emotions override them. — @Wesley.

*** May his soul rest in peace. If only someone talked to him and told him that failure is an ephemeral condition which remains permanent when one decides not to try again. — @Aisha01.

Responses to “$1,5bn shot in the arm for Zim”

The Government should be mapping out a plan to revive key industries that once were the source of foreign currency. The RBZ has statistics of the top performers on exports. However, this should be done on the background of sustainable power supply and all the supporting infrastructure and amenities. — Prof Mununhema.

*** This augurs well for our new economic dispensation and expected recovery. Corruption must be eliminated to ensure any funding or lines of credit are not soiled by economic criminals. — Prof Mzvinavhu.

Response to “MDCs rapped for trip of shame”

The real problem with the opposition in Zimbabwe is that it was motivated by one issue namely, the removal of Mugabe from power. Now that he is gone, there is nothing else to do or say. There are no coherent economic or other policies being offered to the electorate. Besides, the MDC-T is faced with a succession battle of its own. A seriously ill man is clinging to power no matter what. — Chamunorwa.

*** On this one, The Herald is spot on. What gives the opposition the right to invite sanctions on us? Zimbabweans have suffered enough. We want jobs we want a working economy, yet MDC is busy not helping that economy grow, but take it back. — Mahoka.

*** Response to “Biti’s property divorce list raises eyebrows”

Donor funds are diverted into property accumulation whilst the poor urban youth high on bronco and musombodiya is directed to run amok destroying property and attacking police officers in uniform. Meanwhile, the criminal architects of all that mayhem and destruction watch the unfolding scenes of anarchy being screened on TV from the comfort of their beautiful homes somewhere in the affluent suburbs of Harare. — thruthhurts.

Response to “Govt slashes platinum royalty”

This is encouraging; we expect this relaxed tax regime to boost confidence and output. — @webster magwani.

*** Response to “We don’t fight personal wars: ZDF”

The army should continue doing the good work, especially on our roads. — Taurai.
