Zanu-PF youths told to unite Youths salute ED, war vets

ZANU-PF Mashonalan­d West provincial Youth League leadership has urged youths to be discipline­d and remain a united front ahead of next year’s harmonised elections.

Addressing the first inter-district meeting in Zvimba yesterday, the provincial chairperso­n Cde Vengai Musengi urged youths to be united and orderly.

“Let’s remain united and shun all forms of hooliganis­m ahead of 2018 elections,” he said.

“Our participat­ion in these elections is key, so let us all register to vote.”

Cde Musengi said the province was going to elect the new district leadership after next year’s elections, attracting cheers and ululation from Zvimba administra­tion leadership that attended the interface meeting.

He said repentant figures were going to be allowed to retrace their footsteps back into the revolution­ary party.

“Some people can be traced back from Gamatox, G40, but that does not matter in the new era under the leadership of President Mnangagwa,” said Cde Musengi. ZANU-PF Mashonalan­d West province Youth League has said it owes allegiance to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and war veterans for being among the first people in the party to brazenly declare the ouster of former President Robert Mugabe.

The provincial leadership said, they would return the favour through the ballot box.

In an interview on the sidelines of Zvimba Youth League inter-district meeting yesterday,

“What binds us together now is that we are all Zanu-PF cadres.”

Cde Musengi said youths were supposed to benefit from Government and party initiative­s.

“I know as youths we failed to benefit from various party and Government programmes due to fights that were prevailing in the party, do not despair, as your leadership we will fight thick and thin to make sure that those anomalies are rectified,” he said. provincial vice chairperso­n, Cde Joseph Chareka said the league was prepared to return the favour by ensuring that ZANU-PF won next year’s elections resounding­ly.

“As youths, we want a landslide victory for our party in 2018 elections,” he said.

“We have a credit to pay to our war veterans and our President. For the past 37 years, no one had the tenacity and audacity to challenge former President Mugabe, except for them.”

“Feel free to approach us. We are there to diligently serve you. If you identify a piece of land for agricultur­al purpose, we will assist you to even meet with minister Retired Air Chief Marshal Cde Perrance Shiri.”

The Youth League provincial political commissar, Cde Tapiwa Chitate said youths were fully rallying behind the candidatur­e of the party’s First Secretary Cde Mnangagwa as the face of the party in take advantage of the extended biometric voter registrati­on dates by Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to register to vote.

“We are the pillar of the party, we constitute the majority of numbers in both the party and country, if we register to vote, the party will be guaranteed a landslide victory,” he said.

Provincial Youth League secretary for administra­tion, Cde Ability Gandawa noted that youths were set to benefit from the farm downsizing exercise.
