Ruling party replaces 13 leaders

MASHONALAND East Zanu-PF provincial executive has recommended the redeployment of 13 senior party leaders who were accused of being aligned to the G40 cabal.

Addressing journalists after a meeting on Monday, provincial secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Kenneth Mutiwekuziva, said the 13 members had since been replaced.

“Following the PCC meeting in Mashonaland East held on November 26, 2017, the following comrades have been redeployed elsewhere and they have since been replaced,” he said.

The top leaders who were redeployed include Marondera Central legislator Cde Lawrence Katsiru, who was demoted from his post as secretary for administration, Goromonzi South legislator and Women’s League secretary for Transport Welfare Cde Beatar Nyamupinga and Marondera East legislator and deputy secretary for security Cde Jeremiah Chiwetu, and vice-chairman Cde Bernard Makokove.

Other leaders who were redeployed include secretary for production Cde Foster Gwanzura, secretary for gender and culture Cde Godfrey Chikono, committee member Cde Everest Pfumvuti, secretary for education Cde Letwin Kanengoni, secretary for environment Cde Lydia Kakono and secretary for production Cde Trisha Vito.

Cde Katsiru has since been replaced by Cde Thomas Chinyama, while Cde Makokove’s post has been given to Cde Admire Rusere and Cde Chiwetu has been replaced by Cde Muzondiwa Malaba.

Zanu-PF Mashonaland East political commissar Cde Hebert Shumbamhini said provincial executive members had started visiting districts for restructuring purposes.

“Following our management meeting today we have lined up inter-district meetings starting from Hwedza to give our members feedback from the extraordinary congress, and also explain to them about the new era,” he said.
