Youths urged to work hard

- Sydney Mubaiwa in MWENEZI

ZANU-PF youths in Mwenezi should work hard and shun laziness, the party’s national secretary for Youth League Cde Pupurai Togarepi has said.

He said the youths should emulate President Mnangagwa’s exemplary leadership and hard work.

Cde Togarepi urged the youths to be vigilant against political elements that are bent on destabilising Zimbabwe by capitalising on the economic challenges being faced by people in the country.

Addressing hundreds of party supporters during an inter-district meeting at Rutenga Primary School in Mwenezi over the weekend, Cde Togarepi said President Mnangagwa’s ascendancy as party and country leader was a result of his sacrifice and hard work.

“We need to emulate the life of President Emmerson Mnangagwa who dedicated his life to his country and the people of Zimbabwe,” he said.

“He faced a lot of challenges, but he was ready to defend them at all times.

“I, therefore, encourage you to inherit that spirit of patriotism up to elections where, in Mwenezi district, we have already set a 100 percent winning target.”

In an interview, Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association provincial chairman for Masvingo Cde Ignatius Murindi called for unity.

“We need to put our political differences aside and work towards a common purpose of uniting the people and reviving the economy since we are now moving with two legs, which are politics and economics.”
