Mutsvangwa meets Manica governor

THE Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs Cde Monica Mutsvangwa was in Mozambique on Wednesday, where she was scheduled to meet the Governor of Manica Province, Cde Alberto Ricardo Mondlane, and a delegation from the ruling Frelimo party.

Cde Mutsvangwa told The Herald on Wednesday that her visit would help strengthen greater interactio­n and cooperatio­n between Manicaland and Manica provinces.

The enduring relations between Zimbabwe and Mozambique were forged during the liberation struggle.

Cde Mutsvangwa’s delegation was made up of businesspe­ople, captains of industry and Government officials.

“When the President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, visited Mozambique last week, it was observed that while the two THERE is need to set up anti-domestic violence councils across the country to educate people on issues of gender-based violence (GBV), while stepping up efforts to eliminate the vice, a senior police officer has said.

“It was against that background that my Mozambican counterpar­t invited me over so that we could sit down and explore a number of ways and ventures that can benefit the two Manica provinces,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.

“The visit also presents an opportunit­y for us to cement our existing relations and map the future that benefits the two countries and improve standards of living for the people.

“We have a business delegation from Zimbabwe, which will be looking for investment opportunit­ies and partnershi­ps with their Mozambican counterpar­ts. We are going there to enhance economic cooperatio­n.”
