CHITUNGWIZA Municipality has — with immediate effect — scrapped bills for services it has not been providing since 2013, public relations officer Mr Lovemore Meya has said.

In an interview, Mr Meya said residents who had been billed for services such as water, sewer and roads but did not receive the services, should approach the municiplality for the bills to be scrapped.

Mr Meya said that in some parts, residents only received one out of the three services while in other areas they did not receive all three services.

“Please note that council will provisionally suspend billing for services for all the affected houses until the issue is rectified,” he said.

Mr Meya said the affected areas were Zengeza 4, 5, Unit N, O, P, A, B Extension, part of Unit C extension, J extension, K extension, L extension, M extension, Zanoremba

“As of this week, more than 100 residents have visited our offices to have the issue resolved and we are happy to say that all the affected people were assisted.”
