ALL is set for the Chinese Spring Festival show meant to celebrate an important holiday called Lunar New Year slated for tomorrow at the 7Arts Theatre.

The show will be hosted by the China Africa Exchange and Research Centre in partnership with the Embassy of China in Zimbabwe and Dreamstar Zimbabwe.

The show will be a celebration of the most important holiday in Chinese tradition, the Chinese Lunar New Year, as families come together for joy and laughter and usher in the Year of the Dog.

The show will run under the theme “The Dream” — inspired by the Dreamstar Talent Search Show.

In an interview, event spokesperson Tinashe Kitchen said participant are already in boot camp preparing for this occasion.

“We are very excited about the show and all the artistes that are going to perform on the night checked in for boot camp this Monday where they are doing rehearsals. I am just urging people to buy tickets and come in their numbers for this memorable show,” he said.

Among the participants include Dreamstar troupe that recently travelled to China where they performed in Nanjing, Beijing and Shanghai as special guests of the Chinese Ministry of Culture.

Other Chinese artists from Zimbabwe, South Africa and China will also perform.

Dreamstar Zimbabwe director Steve Ke Zhao said they are proud to participating at the event.

“The Chinese New Year is a very important time for the people of China. It is an honour that Dreamstar Zimbabwe has been chosen to participate this year. We are excited to be a part of the show and we know everyone will enjoy what we offer,” he said.

The event is expected to be graced by Minster of Sport, Arts and Recreation Kazembe Kazembe and the host Ambassador of China to Zimbabwe, Huang Ping as the guests of honour.

The show will also feature a small exhibition area with companies and organisations from various fields, both local and international.

“The exhibition is meant to provide a platform for these organisations to market themselves in front of a diverse and multicultural audience,” Kitchen said.

The official launch dates for this year’s edition of Dreamstar talent show auditions will be announced on the same occasion.
