Learning From Trials

-

James 1 vs 2 - 4 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

A lot of people are of the opinion that when they face opposition to anything, it is a trial that they would rather not face. It could be workmates who oppose them, fellow church members who make life difficult, or even school friends who cause trouble and test your patience; we are all surrounded by people who, in some form or the other, stand in our way and make us question our faith and ask, “but why LORD?”

Like the famous sayings go, “whatever does not kill you makes you stronger,” and “gold is refined by fire.” Therefore sometimes when you look back, you realise that these people who sometimes go out of their way to test your sanity are there to play a crucial role of keeping you in check and keeping you on your knees.

The people that question you and make your life difficult play an important role in making you better. GOD in His Wisdom has allowed these people in our lives so that we may continue to depend on Him, and Him alone. When everything is said and done and very little makes sense, we can always count on GOD to be there as a counsellor, a friend, a protector, and a redeemer. We have to learn from Him that all things work for good for those that love Him.

Though you may be at the point where your patience has been stretched to the limit, ask GOD to show you what you are supposed to learn from the experience. He, the great teacher, will reveal the lesson to be learnt. May GOD show you grace through the trials that people inflict upon you.

Be blessed!
