INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed South African based Zimbabwean producer Simukai Mandizvidza better known as Abra Simmz is a happy man after recording a single for Jemere, son of Roy “Gramps” - member of the Jamaican musical family Morgan Heritage.

Morgan Heritage is a Grammy winning band that was established in 1994 by five brothers.

Over the years they have churned out hit albums, earning numerous awards and are among the best reggae bands in the world.

Jemere’s musical career has been on the steady rise and his latest single “Cut Ya Loose” featuring Kylan Arnold debuted at number 24 on the iTunes Reggae Charts World-wide last week and is likely going to be nominated for Grammy this year.

Speaking from his South African base, Simmz said he was happy to work with the Heritage Family.

“We have been close friends with Jereme for some time now and it is an honour working with someone from such a prestigious family.

“We are excited that the single is already making waves few days after its release,” he said.

He also said that he will be working on some more tracks that will be part of Jemere’s forthcoming album.

“We will be working on more tracks on his forthcoming album.

“He is already working on a video of this latest song,” said Simmz.

This is not the first time Simmz has worked with Caribbean artistes.

In the past he has worked with Beenie Man, Major Lazer, Vybz Cartel amongst others.

Locally he is also working with local stars that include Bryan K, DJ Stavo, Jah Knoz and Ninja Kid on their upcoming projects.

The man behind many tours by Jamaican artistes in Zimbabwe such as dancehall star Beenie Man, Simmz is turning out be a portal for Zimbabwean music to international destinations.

He has to date assisted several local musicians among them Buffalo Souljah, Jah Seed and T Mula to connect with big names.

He was among the producers that worked on the riddim titled “New Seasons Riddim” released last year in December. It featured various artistes from both Zimbabwe and Jamaica.
